WogBelly is the musical alias of Naarm/Melbourne-based producer and guitarist Jamil Zacharia, blending world, folk, Afrobeats, and diasporic electronic music into warm, organic, rhythm-driven soundscapes. A versatile collaborator, Jamil has worked across production, live guitar, improvisation, and electronic music, including performing guitar alongside Afrobeats DJs.
Following a recent two-month period in Kenya, WogBelly has been developing creative connections in Diani Beach, where Jamil founded Black Mondays, a grassroots creative meetup, and is now developing plans for a studio supporting unsigned and emerging Kenyan artists. Their practice connects music, diaspora, community, and cross-cultural collaboration between Kenya and Naarm.
